As sensitives, we are well versed in noticing life’s subtleties.
On one hand, this can be pleasurable:
a kind glance, a cup of your favorite tea, or a moving song.
On the other hand, this can be extremely disturbing or painful
because we also have the unique ability to notice
the subtle injustices that lurk beneath the surface.
In these tumultuous times of change, it’s easy to feel
helpless as to how you can be a part of the solution.
I was feeling that way, too.
. . . Until a story from many years ago was brought to my awareness.
Watch Life By Design Video #38 for a helpful reminder
of the positive influence that is always available to you.
Racism and hatred do not always look violent
They are insidious and live far beneath the surface.
If we see it and allow it, then we are part of the problem.
In order to be part of the solution, we have a responsibility
to stand up in these seemingly insignificant situations in which
others either don’t notice or choose to turn a blind eye.
Because you have the acute ability to discern such subtleties,
that means there are countless moments in which you can initiate positive change.
With Love,
Karyn

Thank you, Karyn, for this reminder that “the little things” that we can do, can make a big difference.
“The butterfly effect” works – in both directions.
You’re welcome, Karen. I’m so glad you found this helpful. Yes, the positive effects of our sensitivity, words, and actions in seemingly everyday situations can impact many.
